Pioneer shampoo:
THE EQUINE VERSION includes herbs that have strong antifungal properties and, as well as providing an excellent overall body wash which deep cleanses, keeps insects off and helps to close minor skin nicks and cuts, this soap is a SUPERB antifungal wash for frog and hoof.
Our liquid soaps can be used independently for all animals, or in tandem with our equine balms, and as part of a thorough equine, canine and animal cleansing and maintenance programme.
Midge balm:
Use our herbal liquid soap and work up a rich lather over the entire area. Let the lather lie for several minutes, then dab dry. (do not wash off). Now apply the balm sparingly across the entire area. The oil content of the balm is an excellent insect repellent and will reject mosquitoes, midges and flying insects. The applied balm may need to be gently rubbed in again to dissipate the surface oil. This surface oil must not be rubbed off. Covering the area is recommended. Most midge types cloud in the early morning to catch the warming rays of the sun, and again at dusk, when the temperature starts to fall. These are periods of maximum insect activity and the horse should be protected.

YOu dont wash the shampoo away, because it will give you a good base for the oil to spread better.
If you have a horse, that has sweet itch, then I recommed you do both shampoo and oil like twice a week and oil every day.
But if you have a horse that does not have sweet itch, the I use only oil once in a day. Oil will gently protects the skin and makes it very soft and also keeps the flys away.
With horseflys I dont think it wil work, but everything else it will. So it will protect almost 24 hours.
